*Pretty Maids all in a row* & one big fat Whinge!....

I spent the last two days making up some more of the little *Pretty Maids* lavender sachets & am pretty chuffed at how they turned out! Funny but while I was making them I thought to myself *I should have done this or I should have done that* but as I had cut them out all at the same time was too late but has given me new ideas for more...... so am gradually getting pretties made for my website!

I did in fact use *that* naughty word quite a lot while sewing them....(check out last post) they are in fact very fiddly to make... yah know how you do the top stitching & have all the pins around the top & they ALWAYS manage to spear you in the finger gotta tell you it REALLY hurts not to mention I was forever searching in case they drew blood! I am however very thankful that when I bought my new sewing machine last year (still loving her too) that she came with a free arm, just would not be without it, makes sewing around the tops oh so much easier not to mention when I make up cute little Christmas stockings!

So what is the *big fat whinge* you ask??? good grief it was actually several that I had today, the rain was the first pouring down in so called *Sunny Coffs Harbour* yet again, as if we have not had enough this year already, then there was this & that, not really worth mentioning now that I think about it but THE whinge of the year, month, week OK day is..... I bought a craft magazine today, the first I have bought in a couple of years & could not get over how bad & I mean BAD some of the (I was going to say creations but do not think they deserve to be called that) things! were made. To me if you are honoured by having your creations printed in a mag then they should be of the highest quality well not these babies, I guess well over 1/4 of the items were down right *dreadful*! I don't mean to sound nasty but honestly you tell me you pay all this money for a mag only to find the workmanship is very shoddy no thanks..... So there you have it my whinge for the whatever although it has taught me not to bother buying craft mags anymore....

Oh & hey think I'm entitled to 2 more whinges here... our not that old TV decided it had seen enough of this earth & simply died when it was turned on,lucky the Kids have a TV each & Mr MP&CC went out & bought another TV today & my not even a year old computer has decided to play up on me telling me I cannot update anything as *I am not connected to the internet* how can I get into my blog if I am not connected I ask you grrrrrrrr, I am not a happy chappy right now!

Now that I have got all that off my chest (yes I do feel better) I would now like to wish you all a great weekend...

Those are beautiful!!! So adorable and sweet, I love them!! You did a wonderful job. They really are just too sweet.
I am with you on the craft magazine, oh my goodness I bought one not too long and you're right the projects were dreadful!! (I could have done better, and I'm no expert.) For instance, one project was a yo-yo necklace, I mean it was a necklace made out of yo-yo's. Yuck, would anyone actually wear that? And if we would, do we actually need a tutorial?? lol!!
Adore your sachets, and you have a great weekend too!

Dear Lyn...

I just MUST comment on the craft magazine thingy and what you said about seeing a bunch of JUNK (my word, not yours)...

I quit taking them because I saw many HORRIBLE THINGS. Maybe (and I just mean MAYBE) one would see ONE THING that was good and the rest would be truly dreadful.

Even the decor mags better start picking up the boots and giving us something better...if I see the SAME HOMES showcased AGAIN I'm going to be sick...we've seen the same picture in RCMagazine at least FIVE TIMES in one year. Come on! Give us our moneys worth!

I almost think it is better to surf the web for ideas...do you?

Love your Sachet Hangers...SWEET! You are sooo talented my friend. LOVE your heart and your hands!

They are just darling! I love your little maids!
You have such whimsical and sweet ideas and I'm so glad you're doing something with your talent. I don't buy many magazines because they're mostly advertisements.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

I agree with Rebecca ... I, too, quit my subscriptions to them. Not a crafty person I enjoy looking at everyone else's ideas, designs & creations.

Teresa makes a good point ... even untalented I!!, could probably make some of these things in mags.

Love your little sachet creations, they are adorable.

They are darling and you are NOT whining, sugar!

And I'm with Rebecca on seeing the same homes. Just how many times can some women get their homes and stores in magazines. I love it when I see something fresh that I've never seen before. I'm getting sick of seeing a certain place in Florida that I've seen probably 10 times in every single magazine, although, it is beautiful. I just wonder if these women truly do change their homes around that much for pete's sake! Give us more realistic down-to-earth homes, ladies!!!!!!! I love seeing something I could actually do here in Idaho.

Connie

Are we talking "Handmade" here Lyn? Honestly the things I have seen in there! Homespun has much better quality stuff if you are interested. They (the magazines) are expensive so you would think the articles would be decent eh? Love, love, love the little dilly bags too - they are just gorgeous and unique - I've never seen them anywhere else before. It's hard coming up with new ideas isn't it? Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see your website up and running!

Your "maids" are just gorgeous..they are so unique and I am sure that they will sell like hot cakes!
I agree totally about the mags....I limit myself to which ones that I buy, but I am discovering that the same projects are being repeated in different mag...and the quality of the items hmmmm!
Hope you had a great weekend

I couldn't even begin to tell you how many naughty words would come out if I attempted those, they are wonderful you are very talented

and I'm with Rebecca with the home mags it seems to be the same old stuff around and around, I've even stopped buying Australian Country Style which I used to subscribe to because I couldn't take another home styled by the same old stylist whose is obviously 'in' with the editors but not what I would call country, oops sorry now I'm whinging

nice catching up here, I enjoyed

hi lyn..boy the little maids are really lovely..you are very clever..

I remember when one craft mag started many a year ago..and it was very good..but now it is just full of junk & more junk!!(wouldnt even buy it if it was for sale in the op shop!!).

anyway..we are all allowed to whinge...I actually cracked it at tennis today with a bad shot..& threw my racquet.,,it sailed right over the very high fence..& landed in the park next door!! lucky no one was walking past..
(very naughty of me)...

Plus i also added a few expletives..my MOTHER would be horrified..
SEND the rain to Melbourne please..

The sachets are the cutest I have every seen! I would love to see a picture with the lavender in them. The choice of fabric is beautiful and the sewing is, well let me just say you must be a perfectionish. Love to have one of your little maids but I would not hide her in the closet!
